Dear Visitors!
Have you ever heard about Bratislava, Košice, the High Tatras, spas, caves, The Spiš Castle, „bryndzové halušky", „parenica", ice hockey or Peter Sagan? Not yet? Now is the right time! Welcome to Slovakia!
These clues are part of us, our cultural heritage, part of Slovakia.
So who are we? We are from the south-east of Slovakia, a region called "Medzibodrožie". It is influenced by the Hungarian culture, traditions, and food as well because we live near the Hungarian border.
For this reason, many people speak Hungarian.
 
Now let's talk about our school: It is in the heart of Medzibodrožie,
in a town called Kráľovský Chlmec.
The name of our school is Gymnázium-Gimnázium Kráľovský Chlmec. It is written in two different languages – Slovak and Hungarian, as our school is bilingual just like our region. You can study here for 4 (15-19 years old)  or 8 years (11-19 years old).
By the way this school year we celebrate the school's 70th anniversary.
We are very competitive: we take part in English Olympics, maths competitions, sports or IT projects. Art is a part of our everyday life. We have a drama club called Sycorax, dance groups (Wild Roses - traditional dance and Bandits - modern dance) and also we have a school choir. Last but not least we love taking part in youth activities, international projects just like this one!
